Target is a great place to save money if you know a few secrets!
Many people think that WalMart is a lot cheaper than Target. This is because they don’t know the secrets to achieve big savings. By using some specific money saving strategies you can find deep discounts at Target and even shop there as a primary store each week.
Target often has coupons for fish, meat, produce, and other grocery items that are more difficult to find coupons for. Our local Target stores let us use as many Target coupons as we have items, but this is not the case everywhere. Check with customer service to find out your store policy.
Target web coupons can, of course, be combined with a manufacturer coupon. For example, Target recently had a Target coupon for Dannon yogurt we used this with a manufacturer coupon from Dannon yogurt to get cheap yogurt.
Target also offers several special promotions each week where you can receive gift cards for purchasing certain items specified in the Target sales ad. Your gift card will be activated at the register and you can use it on your next visit. For example, Target recently had Playtex sport tampons on special if you bought 2 boxes you received a $5 dollar gift card.
Recently Target also began price matching. Please read this for more details and view their official coupon policy.
Coupons/Incentive Stacking at Target can cut your household expenses considerably. Stacking is when you use more than one incentive or coupon on a single item. You can combine store sales with a Target web coupon and a manufacturer coupon to get fantastic deals!
Target is a corporation, but each store is allowed to adjust the regular price of their merchandise however they want. The only exception to this is items featured in the weekly sale ad.
TIP: A Target that is close to a lot of other stores like Wal-Mart will usually have better prices than one that is not.
Lastly, it helps to know the clearance schedule so you can find the BEST deals! Finding clearances at Target can be lots of fun. Target has a regular markdown schedule that most stores follow.

Tuesday -- Women's clothing, Domestics, and food items
